The Haven - Nepean Women's Shelter
The Haven - Nepean Women's Shelter provides crisis accommodation, rapid rehousing and outreach support for women and children escaping domestic and family violence and/or homelessness.
They have a person-centred, strengths-based and trauma-informed approach, to empower and inspire women and children to rebuild their lives with dignity. Their clients have access to staff support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through direct service delivery and on-call service provision.
They are led by a volunteer board and rely on non-government assistance to be operational. Each year The Haven needs to raise $300,000 to be able to continue the work they do.
In six years of operation, The Haven has helped over 416 women and children, providing a total of 24,970 bed nights. These numbers represent more than just statistics—they represent hope, resilience, and transformation.
